Winter at The Met with Elana Kaplan
Elana Kaplan, former St. Louisan and independent museum educator and lecturer, is hosting a special three-part winter series of virtual tours. In January, Elana – an educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 25 years – covers some of The Met’s most memorable winter scenes, including “Haystacks-Effect of Snow and Sun” by Claude Monet (1891) and “Central Park, Winter” by William James Glackens (1905). Learn more about how the winter solstice has inspired so many artists to express themselves with muted colors and soft light. To view this Zoom recording click here.
