Johnson signed an unparalleled 200+ landmark laws during his five years in office – including the Civil Rights Act (1964), Voting Rights Act (1965), Medicare Amendment to the Social Security Act (1965), and Civil Rights Act (1968). In addition, he advocated for education, the arts, and environmental beautification.
