Virtual Tour of the Crystal Bridges Museum – Sarah Young

The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas was founded by philanthropist and art patron Alice Walton and opened in November 2011. The Museum takes its name from a nearby natural spring and the bridge construction incorporated in the building, designed by the internationally renowned architect Moshe Safdie. The Museum’s permanent collection spans five centuries of American art, including elements of Native American material culture to works by contemporary American artists.
Sarah Young Volunteer Gallery, Architecture and Sculpture Guide provides for us a virtual tour of this rich repository of great American artwork. The tour is designed to introduce you to the museum and will also take a look at a few highlights of the galleries and sculpture trails…. as well as addressing the museum’s architecture followed by a quick look at a Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home, which was literally moved to the museum from New Jersey.
