The American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art – Elana Kaplan

Elana Kaplan, former St. Louisan and Museum Educator and Lecturer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, provides a virtual tour highlighting some of the extraordinary pieces in the Metropolitan’s American Wing. Since its establishment in 1870, the MET has acquired important examples of American art. Today, the American Wing’s ever-evolving collection comprises some 20,000 works of art by African American, Euro American, Latin American, and Native American men and women, ranging from the colonial to early modern periods.
