Money and Art – Dale Sharon
The art market today is a multi-billion enterprise, estimated to be in excess of seventy billion dollars! The combination of art and money is as relevant today as it was centuries ago. Join Dale Sharon, a 25-year docent at the St. Louis Art Museum, a member of the SLAM Board of Trustees and an exhibited artist, as she looks at the history of money through the lens of related paintings and objects in the permanent collection of the St. Louis Art Museum. Dale’s talk will focus on objects that were considered valuable and emblems of wealth in their time and will also examine some of the beautiful and priceless works in our Art Museum.
